Be Pedi-Cute

Feet. Supposedly more than 50% of women hate theirs. But don’t neglect them; love them and they’ll love you back! Take some time to give yourself a pedi at home. Not only is a home pedi  very relaxing but with a little TLC, you might just end up loving your feet as much as you love the shoes you put them in!

Our four steps to fabulous feet and some great products to help you on your way:

1.       SOAK

Whoever said hard skin should be hard work?

Fewer things could be more relaxing than giving your feet 30 minutes in the Cosmopolitan Foot Heaven Foot Spa. Being able to soak your feet, give them a soothing, sensual massage and even dry your nails makes this foot spa the daddy of all foot spas definitely worth treating yourself to one of these!

If you don’t have a home foot spa, don’t panic! Use a plastic washing up bowl instead! The key is to soak the feet as the softer the skin becomes, the easier it will be to remove dry and dead skin from your feet’s surface.

TOP TIP: After removing the dead skin, pop your feet back in warm water with a good glug of olive oil! Olive oil really is nature’s gift to us. It leaves your feet silky soft and locks the moisture in!

2.       EXFOLIATE

Callous Remover

Ok, so we know this one looks a little daunting but, trust us, this tool is a good’un.  A callous remover is essentially a hand held razor blade and is perfect for removing dead skin which has built up on areas such as your little toes, down the sides of your feet and around the heel. The results are significantly more dramatic than if you use a hard skin remover or pumice stone only. Used carefully, a callous remover will give your feet a fresh and smooth start.

Body Shop Peppermint Smoothing Pumice Foot Scrub

Body Shop Peppermint Soothing Pumice Foot Scrub, £7
Body Shop No More Rough Skin Foot Smoother, £3.

Peppermint is a natural antiseptic. It is known to soften skin and is particularly good for soothing tired, sore feet. Not only does this scrub do all of that but it also smells divine! It is particularly gritty (due to the volcanic rock granules) so it really smoothes out the rough skin on your feet. For extra special results, use hard skin remover / pumice stone and rub over the scrub before you rinse it off.

3.       MOISTURISE

Lush Volcano Foot Mask

Who knew masks weren’t only for faces?? This product is to die for! Packed with papaya (here comes the science bit) which contains an enzyme that digests dead skin cells, this product is the perfect indulgence for your feet and will leave them feeling refreshed, silky-soft and well and truly pampered.

Volcano Foot Mask from Lush £5.75

This is a really gorgeous product and made entirely from natural oils. Massage into the cuticles of your toe nails after pushing back your cuticles to keep your toe nails nourished and healthy.

REMEMBER: Remember to use a cuticle remover before pushing back your cuticles and push back with a rosewood stick rather than a metal tool!

4.       PRETTY

Now you have soft, smooth and supple feet, PRETTY them with a complimentary nail colour and be daring with it!

Lastly, pray for sun so you can bare your now gorgeous tootsies for all the world to see!
